The company -4H- JENA engineering GmbH was founded in Jena on 1st April 1991 and currently employs a staff of 36 working in four product areas on the development, production and marketing of optical, mechanical and electronic components, equipment and systems.

The product sectors are grouped as follows:

• Marine technology
• Optical inspection and metrology
  
• Blieskastel Engineering 
  
• Restoration and repair of large-scale  astronomical
  equipment and component manufacture for Carl Zeiss medical equipment

Dipl.-Ing. Manfred Koch has been managing partner from the company's inception.
The development of the company is reflected in the consistent alignment of the production profile ranging from the individual solution to the provision of systems. The aim of our company philosophy is the optimum realisation of the customers' requirements and associated customer satisfaction.
In addition to the company head office in Jena there are branches in Blieskastel (Saarland) and Kiel (Schleswig-Holstein).


Certification in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 (1997), recertification DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 (2009) and the recurrent verification of the certification validity are evidence of the company's high quality  standards.
Our company is one of the Chamber of Commerce recognised apprenticing businesses. We are currently imparting our practical knowledge and skills to two apprentices on their paths to becoming industrial mechanics.
